Satisfactory server guide: join, mods, settings and fixes
Updated 31 October 2026 · 3 minute read · Satisfactory (Steam and Epic) · By Exclsv Support
Everything you need to run your Satisfactory server in HQ, in one page.
Join
- Open the Server Manager from the main menu.
- Choose Add Server and enter the address and port from your server’s Join page.
- Enter the player password if you set one.
Steam and Epic players play together. PS5 and Xbox Satisfactory can’t join dedicated servers.
Mods
No mods at launch.
Settings
Open Settings, then Game settings. Each setting has a plain label, one line of help and the game’s own default where HQ knows it. Most changes take effect at the next restart; HQ marks the ones that change straight away. HQ claims the server on first start, so you don’t have to. The advanced game settings turn off achievements for everyone on the server.
Backups and going back
HQ takes an hourly backup (Automatic backups) and keeps each for up to 48 hours, plus an off-site backup every 6 hours with 7 daily copies. To go back, open Backups, then Automatic backups, pick a time and choose Go back. Your world as it is now is kept, so you can undo it.
If it doesn’t work
Players can’t join yet
The server started but its own health check isn’t answering yet. Wait a minute, then check Health.
It runs out of memory late in the game
Big factories use more memory than the player count suggests. A bigger size helps.
