Prices include everything, with nothing added at checkout. No VAT will be added to these prices. Each server is a subscription that renews automatically until you cancel, in one step in HQ; we email you before each renewal. Pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Founder offer: 10% off your first 12 months (on your first server only, for the first 200 accounts that pay, one per person; closes at 200 or on 31 March 2027). 72-hour full refund on your first purchase (one per customer). A thread is half of a processor core; bursts use idle processor time on the machine, so they aren’t guaranteed.

What you get on Project Zomboid

Project Zomboid

Workshop collections in one paste

Paste a collection link and HQ fills in the mod and Workshop lines, with mod IDs and Workshop IDs kept apart. Players subscribe to the same collection from the join page.

Project Zomboid

Build 41 or Build 42

Choose the branch in HQ. Switching reinstalls the server, with a snapshot first.

Project Zomboid

Sandbox presets

Start from presets such as Apocalypse or Builder, then change single values in the settings form.

Project Zomboid

Slots that match your plan

Max players is written into servertest.ini on every start, so it always matches your plan.

Project Zomboid

Admin account made for you

HQ creates the admin account with a strong password on first start.

On every Exclsv server

Snapshots and backupsHourly snapshots kept for up to 48 hours, and encrypted off-site backups every 6 hours, with 7 daily copies kept. HQ runs save, waits for “World saved”, then takes the snapshot straight away.
Undo and the BinA Game settings save can be undone on its own with Undo this change, and so can a restore from the time machine. Deleted files wait in the Bin for 7 days, and you put them back yourself.
Saved setupsKeep up to 3 on one server, such as a modded world and a vanilla one, and switch in a few seconds.
Crash careAfter a crash HQ starts the server again and tells you, with the last lines of its log. If it keeps crashing, HQ names the likely cause and offers to remove it.
Reserved memory and a CPU share4 to 12 GB of DDR4 ECC memory, reserved and never shared or oversold, plus a guaranteed share of processor time that can burst when the machine is quiet.
UKAn AMD Ryzen CPU, 128 GB DDR4 ECC memory, NVMe storage and always-on network DDoS protection.

How players join

Players join from the address HQ shows on your server page, or the share link that opens a page with these steps.

Project Zomboid on PC (Steam)
  1. Choose Join, then add a server.
  2. Type the address and port from HQ, and the server password.
  3. Pick a username and password: the server creates your account then.

Project Zomboid dedicated server: run it yourself or rent it?

Running it yourself

  • The computer running the server has to stay on, and online, whenever anyone wants to play.
  • Friends outside your home usually need ports opened on your router, and most home broadband addresses can change.
  • The server shares your computer’s memory, processor and upload speed with everything else you run on it.
  • Game updates, backups and fixing it when it won’t start are up to you.

Renting it from us

  • Memory reserved for your server, never shared with other servers or oversold.
  • Hourly snapshots kept for up to 48 hours, and encrypted off-site backups every 6 hours with 7 daily copies kept.
  • Updates install automatically as soon as they’re out (or at your chosen time), with a snapshot first and one-click undo.
  • Support from a person, by ticket or email.
  • Paste a Workshop collection and HQ fills in the mod lines for your build.

Good to know before you buy

What Project Zomboid on Exclsv can’t do, or does differently.

  • Build 42 mods use a different format from Build 41, and some mods only support one. HQ flags these when you paste a collection.
  • Every player needs the same Workshop items. The join page links to your collection.
  • Project Zomboid multiplayer is PC only.

Questions about Project Zomboid servers

How much memory does a Project Zomboid server need for 2 players?

4 GB on Friends is plenty for a few players with light mods. Big Workshop lists need more memory than the player count suggests, so choose Community or Public for those.

Why aren’t my Project Zomboid settings saving?

Settings edited while the server runs can be overwritten. HQ writes them while the server is stopped, checks them, then starts it.

Build 41 or Build 42?

Either. Build 42 is the Steam public branch; Build 41 is the legacy41 branch. Switching reinstalls the server, with a snapshot first.

How do I add Workshop mods?

Paste the collection link in HQ. It fills in Mods= and WorkshopItems= for your build and keeps the IDs apart.

Why isn’t my server showing up?

Join with the address and port from HQ. The server needs both of its game ports, and HQ sets them up for you.

Can I move my existing save?

Yes. Upload it as a .zip in HQ under Backups, Bring your world, and HQ takes a snapshot first. Bigger saves can go over SFTP.
